Dimensions describe and metrics measure. Dimensions are the text attributes you slice by — country, device, landing page, campaign. Metrics are the numbers in the cells — sessions, users, conversions, revenue. Almost every report is one or more dimensions down the side and metrics across the top, so knowing which is which tells you in advance what a report can and cannot answer.

In an analytics report, "Country" is a dimension. What is "Sessions"?
